This bowl is inspired inspired by the scenery of flocks of white-faced ibis wintered against a backdrop of desert mountains and floodplains during my recent birding trip. I made the bowl on the pottery wheel and pressed in the wall to create an organic form, and painted with multiple glazes to capture the landscape. The bird silhouettes turned slightly blurry, just like how they appeared in the distance, but surprisingly became glossy and popped against the matte sky.

Microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. Hand washing recommended for pieces with sculpted details.
Wheel-thrown stoneware, hand-sculpted and painted with underglazes and glazes.

Handwashing is recommended for pieces with sculpted details.
Even fully vitrified ceramics can absorb liquids over time if left soaking, especially in dirty or colored water, and get stained. Avoid prolonged soaking and rinse promptly after use.
Sudden temperature swings (like ice water into a hot mug or fridge-to-microwave) can cause cracks in ceramics over time. Letting pieces reach room temperature before heating or chilling helps them last longer.
