I first encountered these Caspian terns on the West Coast. As the largest terns in the world, they're easily recognized by their coral red sharp bills and beautiful silhouette when they soar in the sky and dive head first into the water to catch fish. This tumbler features a group of terns I spotted resting on a California beach on a cloudy day.
Microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. Hand washing recommended for pieces with sculpted details.
Wheel-thrown stoneware, hand-sculpted and painted with underglazes and glazes.

Handwashing is recommended for pieces with sculpted details.
Even fully vitrified ceramics can absorb liquids over time if left soaking, especially in dirty or colored water, and get stained. Avoid prolonged soaking and rinse promptly after use.
Sudden temperature swings (like ice water into a hot mug or fridge-to-microwave) can cause cracks in ceramics over time. Letting pieces reach room temperature before heating or chilling helps them last longer.
