Wheel-thrown with a hand-sculpted handle to mimic a bamboo stalk, this mug is inspired by the bamboo plant that is prevalent in everyday life in Vietnam where I grew up—chopsticks, baskets, furniture, toys, and decorations. In my culture, bamboo is symbolic of our peaceful rural villages and of resilience in unity—standing tall and bending through storms when rooted together.
This piece is among the few featuring no wildlife, drawing instead from my East Asian heritage and childhood in Vietnam.
Volume: Approx. 9.5 oz or 280 ml
Microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. Hand washing recommended for pieces with sculpted details.

Handwashing is recommended for pieces with sculpted details.
Even fully vitrified ceramics can absorb liquids over time if left soaking, especially in dirty or colored water, and get stained. Avoid prolonged soaking and rinse promptly after use.
Sudden temperature swings (like ice water into a hot mug or fridge-to-microwave) can cause cracks in ceramics over time. Letting pieces reach room temperature before heating or chilling helps them last longer.
