Snow geese fly 2,000–3,000 miles in narrow flight paths due south from the breeding grounds to a wintering site at roughly the same longitude in
southern U.S. or Mexico. I've been traveling to Cibola National Wildlife Refuge every spring to see them where they winter, and painted this mugs using my own reference photos I took there.
If you live along their flight paths, you can often catch them fly in huge, noisy V-shape flocks overhead at high altitudes.
Volume: ~10-12 oz
Wheel-thrown (or occationally slab-built) stoneware, hand-sculpted and painted with underglazes and glazes.
Care Guide
Care Guide
for ceramic drinkware & tableware
- Dishwasher-safe. Handwashing is recommended to best preserve your favorite critters.
- Microwave-safe with caution. White clay pieces are generally fine. Dark clays (brown, red, or black) tend to overheat in my experience, so microwaving is not advised, or use extra care when handling.
- Avoid sudden temperature shifts. Let pieces reach room temperature before heating or chilling.
- Avoid soaking in standing water for long to prevent staining.
